CALIBRATION SERVICES

Since its foundation in 2000, Simbol has developed a solid knowledge in test and quality assurance of optical equipment. Today, Simbol's  Test and Calibration Lab, PhotonCom, provides superior calibration services built on proven calibration procedures in accordance to our thoroughly maintained Quality System. Being an independent lab, most procedures were developed "in house" with the goal of ensuring  that each Instrument is calibrated in accordance to generally available manufacturer's specifications and Simbol's own test procedures. In many instances, PhotonCom's procedures surpass the manufacturer's calibration procedures. For example, many wavelength meter manufacturers will issue calibration certificates based on single wavelength verification.

Our procedure guarantees that we test several values within the spec, we measure and calibrate at several wavelengths , we ensure that power  specifications are also met and measure several other specifications such as linearity, stability, ripple, etc.

We see our service as being "Better than Calibration". This means that not only is the product confirmed to meet specifications; it is also realigned to bring it back to the center of the specifications. This adjustment is made when it can be done and when it makes sense to do it. Most laboratories see this procedure as a repair and not a calibration.

Instrumentation used during calibration is traceable to N.I.S.T or to Canadian National Research Council when applicable. Our numerous customers, many being large resellers and brokers, tell us we are the only lab they found specialized in the field of optics; we believe them! We also have a vast knowledge of general purpose and other electronics test gear.

Calibrated equipment is shipped to the customer with the following:

    * Calibration Certificate
    * Calibration Label with date
    * Calibration Void Labels to prevent tampering

REPAIR SERVICES

Send us your defective electrical or optical equipment; our experienced technicians will evaluate it at a flat fee. Once completed, you will receive our diagnostic and recommendation, assuming the equipment is economical to repair, as well as a Repair Quote. We will wait for your acceptance or rejection before initiating further action.

WE BUY SCRAP!

We are able to repair many products that are no longer supported by the original manufacturer and for which parts might not be available. Getting access to spare parts is a challenge. We will be happy to extend offers to buy scrap products for parts.
